ERNIE PAGE
Like many drummers, Ernie first became interested in percussion as a youngster,
spending his formative years putting dents in his mom's pots and pans. Trying to
channel his best Keith Moon, Ernie played in a number of garage bands during
his high school years in Pound, VA. (If you said, "where?" you are correct.)
Moving from his Keith Moon phase into his Neil Peart phase, he performed in a
variety Blacksburg, VA watering holes during a fairly lengthy stint at
Virginia Tech in the 1980s and early 1990s -- where he was only placed on double secret
probation once.
Ernie arrived in the DC-metro area in 1995, and has had the opportunity to play
with many great musicians since then, in groups like:
- Joe Phiz (1997-2002)
- Zipper (2003-2005)
- Five Too Many (2005-2006)
- Bluestone (2007-2009)
- Rivers Edge (2006-present)
- Sarah and The Slide (2015-2022)
- Where's Bert? (2024 - until they kick me out)
In addition to these full-time gigs, he has had
the opportunity to sit-in with: Grin N Bare It, Swifkick,
Radio Mime, Type A, and Badlands.
Ernie's current influences are: Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Carter Beauford,
Steve Gadd, Simon Philips, Stuart Copeland, Eddie Hartness and, of course,
that guy in the Saturday Night Live house band.
Boring bits about Ernie's day job are documented at

Apart from his family, work and music, Ernie enjoys golf and referring to
himself in the third person. Links to a few videos and mp3's below. Enjoy!
